Hajime “Haji” Ueda, 92, of Pahala died Nov. 17 in Waimanalo. Born in Ka‘u, he was a retired from the Ka‘u Sugar Plantation and an Army veteran. Born in Honolulu, she was an interpreter for National Hawaiian History and Hawaii Parks at Pu‘ukohola Heiau, owner of Laua‘e Floral Creations, seasonal lei maker for Four Seasons Hualalai and was a member of Imiola Congregational Church, Ahahui Ka‘ahumanu Waimea, Hawaiian Civic Club Waimea and Daughters of Hawaii.
